What is FREELANCE?

FREELANCE is that state of mind where life and time are limitless. It’s when everything is suspended and the mood of the music has consumed the entire space.

I think of songs like Ethics, I think of Karma, Where Will I Go where the thoughts just come as they are, and I accept them without critique. I think of FREELANCE, the title track that deliver that brand of what I consider “consciousness”. Where you look at yourself and think long and hard about the matters of life.

That’s always been more important for me than tying words together in cool, extravagant ways. How can I make you think about this matter?

“Everlasting be the moments you can never keep

Or never seem to keep a hold or keep ahead of we”

How can we make time more meaningful with words and reflect pure feelings that we can only encapsulate in pictures, images we hold. That’s what lyricism means to me - how can we get a moment captured in a melody, a hook, a line? How can we tell time through sound?

FREELANCE is that mode when that’s all coming freely for me! It's a mindset, a lifestyle. It’s who I am when I’m not trying to be.
