Opening thoughts on the album...
Around 2021, I grew to despise recording music because I didn't feel I had a sound. I hated the time and energy spent recording music for the sake of people only listening to it once. I didn't have a direction and I was rapping to every style known to man but I wasn't fulfilled. I didn't feel like the music I recorded represented my love for Hip-Hop culture.
"I fell back in love with music..."
But I couldn't stop studying the culture, watching interviews and performing at open mics! I truly loved the craft and the community it could inspire. I started to perform as an actor and a "Spoken-Word" artist knitting my raps into "poems". In the middle of a writer's block, I found my voice rapping on beats by my brother John Vell. We both had a common purpose: take people to a completely new place. It wasn't fully fleshed out conversation, but we came to an understanding that if we're tired of doing it a particular way, what is the new way?
I fell back in love with music once I asked that question.
